Environmental responsibility built into every project
Core Civil & Mining Services Pty Ltd recognises that earthworks, drainage, haul road construction and mine site civil works can disturb land and affect the surrounding environment. Our approach is to identify and control those risks before machines start, not rely on remediation afterwards.

Every person working for or on behalf of Core has the authority and obligation to stop work where it is causing, or may cause, environmental harm.
Our Commitments
Protecting the environment through accountable delivery
Core is committed to preventing pollution, meeting its compliance obligations and improving environmental performance across all work performed.
Environmental performance is a shared site responsibility. Controls are planned before disturbance, monitored during delivery and reviewed when conditions change, with every worker empowered to raise concerns and stop work where environmental harm may occur.
- Protect the environment, including the prevention of pollution, in all work Core performs.
- Fulfil compliance obligations under applicable Western Australian legislation, licences, permits and client approval conditions.
- Set and verify clearing and disturbance limits so that no clearing occurs beyond an approved boundary.
- Protect Aboriginal cultural heritage through confirmed searches, clearances and an unexpected finds protocol.
- Report and investigate environmental incidents and community complaints, then act on their causes.
- Set and review environmental objectives, monitor performance, evaluate compliance and continually improve the Integrated Management System.
Controls Before Ground Disturbance
Practical controls at every site
Our site controls are designed around the environmental risks associated with earthworks, drainage, haul roads and mine site civil works.
Heritage protection
Heritage searches and clearances are confirmed before ground disturbance. Unexpected finds require immediate cessation of work.
Erosion and sediment control
Controls are installed before disturbance and maintained with particular attention to rainfall events and works near watercourses.
Dust, noise and vibration
Emissions are managed so they do not create unreasonable impact for neighbours, other site users or the environment.
Pollution Prevention
Resources, waste and contamination
- Store, handle and refuel fuels, oils and chemicals correctly, with bunding, spill kits and trained responders available.
- Avoid, reuse and recycle waste in preference to disposal, segregate waste streams and use licensed transporters and facilities for controlled waste.
- Use fuel, water and materials efficiently, applying a life-cycle perspective to procurement and construction methodology.
Biodiversity
Flora, fauna and site hygiene
- Apply fauna management during clearing and protect flora and fauna throughout the works.
- Prevent the spread of declared weeds and pests through vehicle and plant hygiene between sites.
- Manage water, fuel, materials and disturbance carefully to reduce the life-cycle impact of our activities.
Implementation, review and continual improvement
This policy applies to every person who works for or on behalf of Core, including employees, labour hire personnel and subcontractors. It is implemented through the Integrated Management System Manual (MAN-01), the eleven IMS processes and the Environmental Management Plan (PLN-03).
- Approved by the Owners / Directors and issued under ISO 14001:2015 Clause 5.2.
- Displayed at the registered office and at every project site.
- Reviewed at least annually at Management Review and whenever activities, structure or legal obligations significantly change.
- Communicated to workers at induction and to external providers at engagement.
Core works within the approvals held by its clients and does not place a client in breach of a permit, licence or approval condition.
